Air and surface decontamination (ASD) service combines professional cleaning techniques with commercial disinfection equipment to eliminate and prevent virus, bacteria and other contaminates.
The global spread of the COVID-19 virus is a good reminder of how important it is to ensure that indoor environments be free of bacteria, viruses and other organic compounds or toxins.
Air and surface decontamination (ASD) service combines professional cleaning techniques with commercial disinfection equipment to kill and prevent virus, bacteria and other contaminates.
We provide a program that supports and significantly enhances existing typical cleaning and disinfection practices.
Pure MD Air’s air and surface decontamination equipment and process has proven effective in fighting back against viruses in an indoor environment. The Multiphase Photocatalytic Oxidation (MPO) process attacks all organic microorganisms in the treated area. Our process is non-selective and eliminates all human omissions.
How it works
Step 1. Install equipment. (PURAYR technology)
Pure MD Air’s equipment and process utilizes a science known as Multiphase Photocatalytic Oxidation (MPO) to eradicate airborne, surface and embedded organic contaminants. The internal reactions between UV light and titanium dioxide nanoparticles generate massive levels of Ozone (O3), Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) and Hydroxyl Radicals (*HO). These oxygen rich gases react with organic compounds, breaking them down into simple elements as they back into oxygen (O2). The Pure MD air process is basically speeding up time, rapidly oxidizing odor causing bacteria, viruses and VOCs without the use of chemicals. Treatment time is effected by several factors, these include; size of the treatment area, type and severity of contaminant, and amount of equipment available. But generally speaking full decontamination can be conducted overnight or during the workday. During treatment the area will need to be free of people, plants and pets. Only our staff with proper protection should have access to the area until the space has been neutralized by air exchange and/or charcoal air scrubbing. The neutralization process takes 30-60 minutes and is verified and recorded with a Portable Gas Detector prior to the release of the space. This residue free, environmentally sound process offers excellent material capability (including sensitive electronics, leather and antiques). It DOES NOT produce nitrogen oxides as found in traditional ozone producing technologies.
Step 2. Apply Microbe Shield
Although sanitizing and disinfecting is a good short term solution, protecting a surface with the AEGIS Microbe Shield® stops the growth and spreading of microbes for 6-12 months at a time. The AEGIS Microbe Shield® is effective against microorganisms with cell membranes, such as bacteria.
The AEGIS Microbe Shield® is not a detergent or a bleach. It is an antimicrobial surface treatment that creates an inhospitable place for micro-organisms. The AEGIS Microbe Shield® bonds to treated surfaces becoming a bed of spikes which puncture the cell wall of micro-organisms on contact. It is registered with Health Canada, PMRA, as a surface protection to control and protect the surfaces from bacteria.
The active ingredient in AEGIS® forms a protective coating that can molecularly bond with products upon application. Bacteria are attracted to the coating’s positive charge, and upon coming into contact with the treated surface, they quickly die. When applied to surfaces, AEGIS forms a colorless, odorless, positively charged polymer that attracts, then electrocutes and ruptures, a microbe’s negatively charged cell membrane. AEGIS® inhibits the growth of microbes on surfaces by utilizing a charge disruption mode of action. AEGIS® is a cationic antimicrobial that’s attracted to the microbe’s cell wall and neutralizes the cell wall’s natural protection by interacting with cellular proteins needed to maintain cell wall integrity. Its charge- disruption mode of action leads to the eventual breakdown of the microbial cell (also known as lysis), eliminating odor, stains and deterioration.
Unlike many other chemical disinfectants that control microbes which can require constant re-application or have unwanted side effects, including damage or discoloration on product surfaces, toxicity to living organisms or environmental damage, AEGIS® technology has a history of safe use and durable, ensuring long-lasting antimicrobial efficacy.
How do we apply AEGIS Microbe Shield®?
Our trained and certified technicians will thoroughly clean and sanitize all areas being prepared for the AEGIS®application. Our team will then rinse the areas that have been cleaned and sanitized, and allow them to air dry. Next, an even coat of the AEGIS® will be applied to all surfaces being treated.
